Get Involved: Join Nathan’s Team

Here are some ways that you can get involved with Nathan’s campaign:

Put up a sign

Give one of our offices a call and we will gladly get a sign out to you.

Volunteer for a foot or phone canvass

The best way to engage people in the democratic process is to talk to them. And don’t be afraid – we always team up shy or first-timers with more experienced people. There isn’t a bunch of convincing that you’ll have to do and you don’t need to know the answers to all the issues – we’re just making sure that voters know that there is an election going on and are finding out who will be supporting us. As for the tough questions, we simply keep track of them and let the campaign follow-up later.

Donate

Making sure that everyone in our riding gets to hear from Nathan costs a lot of money! From the costs of renting our offices, to Nathan traveling back and forth across this massive riding, to printing and distributing brochures and signs to paying for phone lines, all these things are expensive. The good news is that there are excellent tax credits available for your donations (up to 75% comes directly back to you at tax time) and you’ll get your receipt within a month of the end of the campaign!

Host a coffee party or invite Nathan to an established group meeting

The key to a campaign is for as many people as possible to get a chance to meet Nathan and have a conversation with him. Inviting him to meet a group of your friends or colleagues is a great way for him to spend time with folks he may not otherwise meet.

Volunteer to cover the front desk or with other administrative tasks

Are you great at answering phones and keeping our offices neat and clean? Do you like saying hi to people who drop by and being a good representative of the campaign to the general public? We sure would love to have you come by.

Help to plan a fundraiser

We’ve had some great times in the past putting the “fun” back into fundraising. If you have a great idea that you want to head up, come on by and give us a suggestion. Or join our fundraising team – your help would be worth its weight in gold – bullion, hopefully.

Cook a nutritious meal and bring it by one of our offices

The team is going full tilt and all too often forgets to take the time to keep themselves properly fed. If your special talent is cooking, why not consider bringing in a good meal for the workers to munch on while they keep going – you’ll be our favourite! (oh, and the odd cookie here and there would not be turned away, either).

Don’t forget about election day!

All of the hard work of the campaign will be for naught if we don’t ensure that all of our supporters get out to vote on e-day (or even before) – we’re going to need hundreds of volunteers on that day to help call, drive and scrutineer at the polls. Followed, of course, by an amazing victory party.

And of course, make sure you vote yourself

Did you know that you can vote already? Just head into any of the Elections Canada offices set up across the riding. Vote in advance if you can, or on October 14 – just make sure you vote because each and every vote is important to ensuring we return Nathan to Ottawa to continue to ensure our voices are heard over there!
